It was a blast capturing Ren and Jessica’s family photographs again, this time in my backyard here in Temecula! Jessica is expecting a little girl, Avery! Baby Gavin is very excited to have a little sister! Jessica is so pretty and Ren was smiling the entire time, so my job was pretty easy, I just had to press that button on the top left of my camera! Hahaha!

Los Willows Wedding Photography

I love getting to be a Los Willows Wedding Photographer. This one was an extremely special wedding because it was two of best pals from high school, Travis and Amanda. The humor and all the jokes at this wedding makes it one of the most fun weddings of all time! It was a struggle to prevent camera from shaking while laughing at some of the things that happened…

1) “Hey Pat come in here and get a picture of my groomsmen helping me get dressed”, as Ape helps him bring his pants up from around his ankles. LOL!

2) Or how about the request to get a picture of Amanda when her bridesmaids are holding up her dress so she can pee! Hahaha!

3) The best man was the BEST! Seriously, the pregame jokes and the speech and the dancing, they were all hilarious!

There are 10,000 other times I was laughing but Ill spare you and get to the photos of Amanda and Travis getting hitched.

Josh & Tayza’s Engagement Session | La Jolla, Ca

Engagement photos at the beach with the love of her life was a dream come true for Tayza. She told me that this was one of those things that she could mark off her bucket list! On top of that, her fiancé, Josh, was deploying to Afghanistan in a week. Saying that these pictures are special is an understatement.

We decided to capture some fun shots on the rock beach in La Jolla, just South of the Cove. It was a lot of fun watching the waves crashing onto the rocks. And Tayza and Josh were awesome, real down to earth and easy going. At one point Tayza said “Hey we are from the country, don’t worry about it” in response to me apologizing for making them walk through some muddy areas! They grew up near Missouri and Tennesee and are traveling the states and soon the globe.

As Josh sacrifices his time and energy so that we can remain free and safe here in the USA, please say a prayer for him. We want him to come home safe in 7 months and God can ensure that will happen. They have plans to get married when he returns!!!

Jimmy + Andrea’s Wedding | A road trip to Clovis!

Two of the most important things in life are God and Family. Jimmy and Andrea invited both to their wedding and it was amazing. Love was in the air.

Jimmy and I grew up together but this was my first time getting to meet Andrea. What a sweetheart she is; so easy-going and so courteous. And beautiful too as you can see in the photos! Jimmy really scored!

They are moving to where he is stationed in Alabama. I pray they will have an enjoyable stay there and that God will bless them for all their sacrifice for our country. I really hope they end up back in So Cal someday!

One of my favorite parts from the wedding was when Papa (Jimmy’s Grandpa) danced with Andrea. I t was like skit from dancing with the stars. He was spinning and twirling Andrea like crazy. Just watching them be so happy just made me smile! My second favorite part was when Jimmy and his friend Dustin were dancing outside on the ledge with stogies in their mouth. Their moves were synchronized like they had rehearsed it 100 times, it was hilarious!

When Jimmy busted out a 12” blade for cutting the cake everyone laughed! It was a pretty sweet gift from his bro Doug! There were so many other funny stories too, but lets get to the wedding photographs!

Long Shadow Ranch Wedding Photography | Courtney + Travis

From the moment Courtney arrived at the Long Shadow Ranch Winery in Temecula she lit up the place with her smile. I think she was glowing with excitement the entire day!!! Courtney loves photos and she had been dreaming of this day ever since she was little, so there was a lot of pressure on me! I like pressure and I think she will enjoy each one of these pictures from her wedding photography collection. The wedding went off perfect. Travis might say he had to squint because of the bright Temecula sun, but I think he was fighting off the tears! Courtney chose beautiful colors for the bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen ties. The color contrasted great with the green vineyards which were growing everywhere.

Ever since Courtney and Travis took their engagement photos on a real life working ranch in Winchester, I had been looking forward to their bridal portraits. Courtney and Travis are so in love and not afraid to show it! It was so fun getting to capture their photos.

And I've got to give a few shout outs to some people who did an exceptional job helping with the wedding…

Shannon Nelson did an amazing job coordinating the entire day. I would recommend her to a friend in a heart beat. You can get her contact info from the LongShadow Ranch and Winery website. Secondly I have to show the florist some love. They were also awesome, showing up early and having everything ready to go, not just in time for the wedding but, in time for the photos. Thanks MFG Floral Designs. And the final shout-out goes to Kevin my second photographer. His shots are getting better with each wedding and I'm having trouble telling which are his and which are mine, nice work Kevin!

Wedding Photographs at Wilson Creek

Capturing Wedding Photographs at Wilson Creek is so much fun. The entire venue is a wedding photographer’s dream. Add a couple of happy beautiful newly weds to the equation and you get one heck of a combination!

These photo are from a “day-after photo session” or “post wedding photo shoot”. Wilson Creek was kind enough to let us come back after the stress of the wedding was gone and we had more time to spend on getting some artistic wedding portraits. Thanks again Sue Lynn!

Springtime engagement sessions are the best! Everything is so fresh and green, and it still isn't too hot in Temecula for hiking. It is my favorite season for Temecula Photography. So Shawn, Heather and I hiked out into the Temecula back country for some creative engagement pictures. What we really liked about this area besides the beautiful scenery was the seclusion from the busy city life.

Shawn and Heather are very excited to be engaged and cant wait for their wedding! They have been dating almost a decade. They fell in love back in High School and both enjoy careers in law enforcement. They both have a lot in common and I believe they were made for each other. I am so happy for them!

Capturing photos of Ruth and Tim’s new baby was so easy! Little Patrick is such a good boy. He didn’t cry once during the entire family photo photo session at Bates Nut Farm. You can probably tell from the photos below what an easy-going kind of guy he is gonna be. I mean we layed him in the grass, held him upside down, stuck him in a tree, tore off all of his clothes and I didn’t even hear a peep out of this kid!

Capturing some beauty in nature…

I originally fell in love with photography when I started shooting outdoor landscape photography in college. Getting to be in the natural landscape and experience God’s creation is a real joy to me. It calms my soul and makes me realize how amazing our creator really is. My photos don’t do it justice. Its my feeble attempt to capture a few small specks of the beauty.

My first trip to Yosemite, was probably when I decided that photography was something that I wanted to pursue. Up until then I had been investigating and researching it. But after getting to spend a week in the valley and photograph so many amazing scenic shots I was hooked. The photos below aren't in Yosemite, but were taken near the Santa Rosa Plateau.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. - II Cor 5:17;

Beautiful Wedding Photography

Hector and Lena have been an item since High School. I can remember them holding hands and hanging out together at lunch time on the quad! I would have bet money that they would get married someday, but never in a million years would I have guessed that I would get to photograph their wedding.

I already had a good feel for Hector and Lena’s style so I was excited to capture their wedding from the first second they called and asked if I was available on their wedding day. Kevin and I arrived early and after scoping out the joint, decided to borrow the white dress hanging in the bridal suit for a detail shot. 15 minutes later I had some guy in a cheap blue suit screaming at me from a hundred yards away “YOUR IN BIG TROUBLE, I DIDN’T SAY YOU COULD DO THAT.” After he ran over, I explained that I didn’t realize that he was also getting married at The Old Richland School House and on the exact same day as my good friend Lena!!! But seriously, even after explaining that I was hired to do this, the security guard took a good 2-3 minutes for him to cool his jets. He was passionate about his job, so you gotta give him props!

Back to the wedding… The entire day was perfect and the wedding was a blast. Having a second shooter (Kevin) was great and I am impressed with the candid shots he delivered. Some of my favorite images from the day are below.

Rustic Wedding Photography in Valley Center

What makes a wedding great? Some might say the dress, dj, food or venue. After being the wedding photographer at close to 100 weddings I believe it is the people.

Everyone at John and Amy’s wedding were genuinely happy to be there and excited to see them commit themselves to one another. Getting to be apart of their special day was a real pleasure.

They chose to get married in the beautiful Valley Center Country-side on top of a mountain. There were clouds rolling past and during the ceremony rays of sun were shining down on them. It was so much fun to photograph such a unique wedding.

Temecula Wedding Photography at Wilson Creek Winery

Getting to capture Ray and Orio’s wedding was very special. There wedding day started at Wilson Creek Winery in the bridal suite with hair and makeup. Holly did a fantastic job on the hair and makeup. I got to take a photojournalist approach during part of the day, which is always fun for me because I live for the natural process of shooting those candid real life emotions of love and excitement!

They say its always sunny in Temecula, well then they are wrong! While I was photographing the groom’s pictures we began seeing some dark clouds roll in. The father of the bride began storm chasing on his smart phone and trying to predict if the ceremony should be held outside or inside. Like I've said in the past, every wedding has at least one event that is unplanned, Orio’s unplanned event just happened to be rain. So the ceremony was moved inside and everything went on.

The wedding facilities at Wilson Creek are top-notch. I was really impressed with all of the open space they’ve got. It was very comfortable in the ballroom and photographing in their lighting was great. I think Orio had some say in the purple lighting, and I really like how colorful it made some of the photos.

As a passionate Temecula Wedding Photographer, every opportunity to capture someone's BIG day is special to me. One of my favorite moments at this wedding was when the groom brought Grandma out on the dance floor in her wheelchair. Her face lit up like a Christmas tree! And they started boogying to the music!

Oh yeah, and the Bride and Grooms first dance was the BEST I have ever seen, seriously. Well they are both professional dancers, so I thought they may be planning something special, and they didn’t disappoint. It was awesome, hopefully some of the photos I captured kind of tell the story. Overall it was a great wedding at Wilson Creek and I hope to have the opportunity to shoot there again, especially since it is like 8 minutes from my house!

Joyful Carter Bug

I am loving this whole being a dad thing! I feel like the luckiest guy in the world right now because I am so blessed to have such an amazing family!!!

My son Carter is almost 4 months old now. He loves taking baths, swinging in his jumper, and just being silly with his mom and dad! He might stink and barf every now and again but when he looks me in the eyes and then lights up the room with a smile and giggle it makes everything worth it!

My wife is also amazing and I thank God for her. She not only takes care of our little Carter but also me! Yeah, Im not sure what I would do with out her. Im not one to brag but I really scored!!! Praise God!

Engagement Photography in Valley Center, Ca

What a fun idea Sarah had to have her engagement pictures taken at Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center, Ca. The hay, old barn, and antique wood textures really gave her the country style engagement photos that she was going for.

We toured all over the farm looking for fun and creative photography opportunity's. One of my favorite’s was underneath the huge oak tree at the front of Bates. That tree has to be a hundred years old.

Fall is such a gorgeous time of year in Southern California too, the colors and warm crisp air really made it a comfortable experience. I love being outside and getting to photograph great people in God’s beautiful creation. Congrats to Sarah and Aaron as they get ready to tie the know in 2011!

Family Photography in Murrieta

As a family photographer in Murrieta you’ve got to be ready to mix it up and get creative. This shoot was no different. The request was for simple black and white images of the whole family. So we went monochromatic and captured some fun shots of the family and then some “modeling” shots of the kids!

This session was in the clients home, and I enjoyed being resourceful with available light and backgrounds. We used what we had and made it an awesome shoot. If you follow my blog at all you probably know this isnt usually my style. Natural and earthy with brown tones is more my thing, but hey you’ve got a mix it up once in a while. And Im happy I listened to my clients ideas in this case because they turned out great.

Beach Engagement Photos in San Diego

What a blast it was getting to capture Travis and Amanda’s Engagement photographs! They are so easy going and can turn anything into a laugh! For the last photograph at the beach session, I begged tem to sit as close to the water as possible and enjoy the sunset. They trusted me that the long exposure was gonna turn out really cool. And the 5th or 6th try did turn out just as I hoped with a buttery soft shoreline washing over them! Sorry guys, I hope the wet butts were worth it.

After their San Diego beach engagement photography session we decided to take a stroll through the city and capture some more romantic shots. La Jolla was perfect for this, because of the gorgeous architecture and warm city lights. As a photographer who loves natural light I shy away from the night. But this city night engagement session really opened my mind about new possibilities. I think my favorite shot from the session was this long exposure photograph where Travis and Amanda are kissing in the middle of the street with the cars zooming past them. This wasn’t photoshopped, this is straight out of the camera with a few minor adjustments to contrast and color in Adobe Lightroom.

Trav and Manda were truly meant for each other, and not just because they already have the same last name! They both have huge hearts and they both make each other smile. They are high school sweethearts and so excited to be getting married in June 2011. Travis is basically building Amanda a house and we are hoping it will be move in ready by the wedding. Knowing Trav I bet it will be done, if not we will have to call in the “House Crashers” from HGTV when they are on their honeymoon!

Wedding Photography at the Bermuda Dunes Country Club in Palm Springs

I was so excited when Jason referred me to his best friend Jeff, and recommended me to photograph his wedding in Palm Springs. Not just because referrals are great, but because I already new what an awesome guy Jeff was from school! After I met Mindy I was even more excited because it was obvious how perfect they are for each other. Getting to be around their circle of people is like being in an episode of ‘Friends’. I love the all the history and great friendships that have been strong for so many years, and of course the jokes and trash talking are so much fun.

Being a Wedding Photographer in Palm Springs is a dream. The colors are amazing there and the weather is great 90% of the year! This was the first wedding reception at the Bermuda Dunes Country Club. What a spectacular venue for wedding photography, the grounds are beautiful! From the Waterfalls, rolling grassy hills and huge trees, there just isn't enough time for all the photographs I wanted to capture. The reception hall is awesome too with an amazing view looking over the water and the bar is HUGE.

The joy and emotions on Jeff and Mindy’s wedding day were immense and I believe this really shows in their wedding photographs. Everyone was so excited for them to get married and celebrate their new life together at husband and wife!!! I think Mindy was smiling the entire day! In fact, even when the cameras were turned in the other direction she was smooching Jeff and smiling.

Getting to be apart of their wedding day was such a blessing and I pray the best for them. Thanks again Jeff and Mindy for for trusting me with something so priceless.

…and they lived happily ever after!

Maternity Photography in Temecula

The day before baby Patrick was born I had the pleasure of photographing his parents in park near our home in Temecula. I recently had a baby and so I am familiar with the well… adventure!

It was a warm but crisp evening and the light was just right, not to harsh but providing just enough contrast. Ruthii and Tim were up for anything and I had lots of fun getting creative with their images. Below are some of my favorite pictures from this maternity session in Temecula.

Eclectic Style Wedding | Photography by Anibaldi Studio

People might say that you don't know what love is until your 18? Or even 21? I beg to differ and so do Britt and Matt. They’ve been going steady since 5th grade and just got married this month! What a cute love story they will get to tell their grandkids someday!

I love Brittany and Matt’s eclectic style and how they incorporated that into their wedding. The suits, shoes, dress and venue all just went together so well. The Hidden Hacienda is probably my favorite wedding venue period. The vintage style their is so cool. And I love how everything is real and nothing is ‘manufactured’. This was my second time getting to be the Hidden Hacienda Wedding Photographer, and I cant wait for the next time!

My favorite memory from photographing Brittany and Matt’s wedding was this little boy. When I take photos of kids I usually like to show them their picture and see how they react. Usually they want me to take another! However, this little boy wanted to take some for himself. I didn't think anything of it until the reception when I saw he had borrowed a camera! He was following me around taking pictures on the dance floor just like me! It was awesome! After a while he had inspired a few more of the other little kids. So he had his own little fan club following him around. You can see the photos of him below.

When i first heard the song I used for their slideshow I instantly thought of Matt and Britt’s wedding. In fact, I have been saving it just for them! Because, Matt and Britt are like “two atoms in a molecule inseparably entwined”!

Ronnie+Cami | Wedding Photography at Eagle Glen, Corona

After photographing their engagement and wedding, I am quite convinced that Cami and Ronnie have something very special. To call it true love would be an understatement! This was my first time being a wedding photographer in Corona and I will be honest it was not what I expected. The mountains and scenery are something else over at the Eagle Glen Golf Course. In fact, that is why Cami chose it. She wanted beautiful wedding photographs with bright colors.

All day Ronnie was so excited to see and marry Cami! Like the best man said in the speech, Ronnie constantly talks about how pretty Cami is inside and out. I had a great time at their wedding and what a beautiful day it was. The ceremony took place on some lush green grass under the blue sky. It was gorgeous. After the ceremony, the Eagle Glen coordinator Jared took us around on the golf carts for some photos. This was excellent service, that I dont see very often. I highly recommend Eagle Glen for having your wedding. Jared didn't hassle us to follow a timeline and was very open to what the couple wanted. So thanks to Jared and Eagle Glen for everything!

The DJ was hilarious and did an excellent job. My favorite part of the night was when he asked the fifth grader what he was doing in the crowd of single guys getting ready to catch the garter.He replied “I want to catch it”. “Catch what” replied the DJ. “Umm the thong” replied the little kid. And the whole place went crazy busting up laughing! I thought it was so funny. And of course the DJ explained what it actually was and that if he caught the garter he would have to drop out of school and get a job to support his new wife! The DJ also got everyone on the dance floor for a group photo, I love that. And I didn't even ask him too. I highly recommend Fred from Sound Garden Productions.

Everyone wants to be a wedding photographer these days, mostly because of the money, cool equipment, the fame. Just kidding about that last one! But seriously for me, the best part about it is the people and relationships you get from it! As I have said, your wedding photographs are priceless, so once you build that bond of trust with your clients you’ve become more than just friends. South Coast Winery Wedding Photographer

Rich and Kurra are perfect for each other, and I couldn't have been more excited to capture their wedding day in Temecula. As a South Coast Winery wedding Photographer this was the kind of wedding that i live for! To beautiful people, both inside and out deciding to spend forever together!

Kurra has the heart of an angel and trusted me completely with capturing her wedding photos. That's when my clients get my best; when they trust my vision and let me do my thing. When I walked into her suite for the getting ready pictures, the first thing she did was offer me some pizza!!! It just blows me away at how blessed I am to have the best clients in the world!

Speaking of pizza the groom was Italian, and the family made this a very FUN wedding! I'm also part Italian, well you probably knew that from “Anibaldi”, and I just feel like I am at home in that type of culture. That probably sounds as corny as an Olive Garden commercial but its true. Holidays during my childhood were filled with loud aunts and uncles who wore their hearts on their sleeves. The NY accents and all the hugs and kisses and lots and lots of jokes, everyone was always smiling!

Anyways, back to the wedding story… Rich’s uncle married him and Kurra and weather was perfect! September is a great month for a wedding in Temecula. It seemed like every guest at the wedding had two cameras! It was so cool, everyone wanted a picture with the newly married couple! My favorite part of the whole day was probably the reception though. The Mike and Brian Duo were awesome live! They play a lot at the Temecula Wineries so you may see them around here on the weekends. The dancing was incredible and such a blast to watch and capture! The kids dancing, the groomsmen picking up the bride, Rich dancing with a guy friend during the money dance, it was all classic!

With every photography opportunity I get in Temecula, the more and more this place grows on me. This past weekend I got to capture an intimate wedding at the grooms personal estate. It was a hot summer day and you could here the bees buzzing and the trees blowing in the breeze that visits Temecula every day. The DJ was wearing flip flops and playing some Iz, and I have a hunch his water bottle was filled with a mai tai! ;) But the combination of the elements, had me falling in love with the comfortable atmosphere here in Temecula. If you are looking for a professional wedding photographer in Temecula I hope you will consider me.

The wedding was great, and there were so many special moments that I was able to capture. In fact, my challenge with this wedding was to capture candids… only! Yes the bride and groom don't like pictures or the pressure and time it takes creating them. So I was hired to take photos by someone who doesn't like photos! One reason I call Wedding Photographs an investment is because their value grow in time. Obviously, the day after your wedding you remember almost everything, however 10 years later you begin to rely on your pictures quite a bit more. So I think through the years the bride and groom will be happier and happier they decided to have a photographer at their wedding.

The wedding was planned and Coordinated by Becca. She was amazing! She had some great help too, including Kelly and Cindi who did a fantastic job with setting and making everything run so smoothly. The food was exceptional and I loved the heirloom tomatoes Cindi had me try. Honestly though, I think I would eat anything with mozzarella cheese on it! Oh yeah, and of course the Hair! My friend Holly did an amazing job too!

Twin Oaks House and Gardens Wedding Pictures

Ashley and Colin's summer wedding was a pleasure to photograph. What a beautiful venue the Twin Oaks House and Garden’s is. The flowers were all in bloom, the skys were blue, and the bride and groom were all smiles! When your clients trust you to capture their day with style, it makes being a San Diego Wedding Photographer very enjoyable.

What stood out to me at this wedding, was the great atmosphere. Maybe, I was in my own world or maybe it was the open bar ;) but it seemed like everyone was really enjoying themselves and werent afraid to break out of their shells. From people waving at me during the ceremony, when the camera was pointed in their direction to the dance floor during the chicken dance, everyone was having the time of their lives. My wife says that Ashley's dress was perfect for her and the wedding. It was obvious that a lot of thought went into the details, and that she had been dreaming of this day for a longtime. Im so glad everything turned out just as she had hoped, praise the Lord!

My favorite part of this wedding was capturing the candid shots of their first dance. The tent and chandeliers at the Twin Oaks House and Gardens make for a great background, and I had fun getting creative with the available light. Enough said, enjoy the wedding photographs captured at the Twin Oaks House and Gardens. Oh yeah and a tip of my hat to some of the vendors that I thought did great including the the cake designer and the caterer. The DJ really stood out… he did an exceptional job. John Gillon from Events by Design was flawless, great audio during the ceremony and fun music during the reception.

Temecula Engagement Photography at the Journey

When I setup an engagement session, I usually let the couple choose the location. The spontaneity is fun for me and keeps things real. Mike and Aimee chose The Journey at Pechanga. I would have never chosen The Journey, but now that I have actually been there... WOW its amazing, especially at sunset! We had a great time driving golf carts through the course and stopping when something caught our eyes. Mike took us to the top hole that overlooks all of Temecula, it was an awesome view. There are so many great spots in Temecula for engagement photos, and this one is now one of my favorites! Getting to interact with Aimee and Mike was fun and will be very helpful for the wedding. Its fun to know how a couple clicks and how they are with each other. Sorry, its hard to put it in words, but getting to know the bride and grooms body language before the wedding is a huge plus that I think really improves the turn-out of the wedding images.

If you are looking for a Temecula Wedding Venue, The Journey is a spectacular location and the staff are great hosts! It was my first time there and I was just the engagement photographer, but the Pro shop hooked me up with my own cart and let us tour around like royalty. There is tons of space and beautiful scenery. Its definitely worth checking out. Aimee is actually part Indian, so this location had some extra significance. The Journey at Pechanga, I learned, has some historical locations throughout the course. You can see the huts in this last photo and there is also an old cemetery nearby.

Im a Dad!

Guess whos a new Daddy? Yep, that’s me! Theres been long break from the blog, and I think that having a baby is a pretty good excuse. Ive been learning how to change diapers, and getting lots of good practice! I was going to go into details but it gets pretty dirty! In fact I was thinking about, calling Mike Rowe from "Dirty Jobs" to come over and film and episode! But seriously, fatherhood is amazing, we are so blessed to have a healthy little boy. There are a lot of expectations, with Carter's dad being a photographer and all. I dont think it will be hard though because he is so stinkin cute! Yes I am probably biased, being his dad and all, but you can checkout the photos below and judge for yourself.

Starting a new chapter in Life. Not sure what it has in store for us but I do know who is going to light the path and guide us as parents… the God of the Bible!

Engagement Photography at a Park in Murrieta

Capturing Ronnie and Cami’s engagement photographs at a local park in Murrieta was a real pleasure. They let me get creative with the angles, colors, effects, and really trusted me with the whole thing.

This couple has a really great love story. There is a lot behind these engagement pictures. In short, they have both helped each other get through some tough times. And through those experiences they have really come together and learned they can rely on one another.

From experience, I agree that hardship can build bonds stronger than when everything is hunky-dory! For example, on my honeymoon, we got very sick, were robbed, and the water main broke in our first hotel. Yeah, it sounds horrible but it was a fun adventure that really helped my wife and I become a strong close-nit team! I believe that God is in control and that everything happens for a reason. Maybe we don't understand it at the time, but in the end looking back everything will make sense.

Newborn Baby Photography Session

What a beautiful creation Mike and Elena have been blessed with! Elena entrusted me with capturing Finley's newborn photographs, and what a pleasure it was. Its indescribable how precious she is. What a calm peaceful feeling I had just from watching her sleep, which she did for the majority of the photoshoot. This is my second newborn photography session, and I hope to do more of them in the future!

Elena and Mike are already great parents. In fact, little Finley was delivered at the same hospital my wife will be at. So it was fun to hear about the experince and gather some info. Thanks for the tips Elena and Mike!

For this newborn photography session I used 100% natural light. Not only is this the easiest on the baby's developing eyes, but its also a very mobile setup! By utilizing prime lenses such as the Sigma 30mm f/1.4, Sigma 50mm f/1.4 and Canon 100mm f/2.8 L IS Macro I am able to maintain a fast shutter speed, low iso, and narrow depth of field.

Newborns grow very fast, in the first year they usually triple their weight. So if you want photographs of your newborn it is critical to schedule the session within the first two weeks of life. Depending on what types of pictures you are looking for the session can range for 2-4 hours. Of course, this includes diaper time, feedings, and lots of baby sleep! Family Photography Session | Encinitas, Ca

Its July but there is still June Gloom in San Diego? I'm not complaining though because the clouds are like giant soft boxes providing perfect light for portraits! Susan’s family session at the beach in Encinitas was no exception. There were clouds and it was great light for portraits. In fact this family photography session in san diego was in the evening, and the marine layer still hadnt burned off.

Susan had warned me that it was practically going to be a family reunion. Family were down from all over the country. The kids were excited for Disneyland and had a great time at the beach. I had a great time getting to meet everyone and play with the little kids. Capturing photographs of little kids is probably one of my favorite things to do. Its challenging because the photos are usually spontaneous. You've got to be interacting and almost playing with them while at the same time getting ready for that moment you need to press the shutter! My wife and I have a lil guy on the way so I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more photos of kids on the blog!

Country Style Wedding in Valley Center

What a blast it was photographing Rebecca and Matt in my hometown, Valley Center, located in San Diego County. It was a lot of fun knowing almost everyone in the bridal party and in attendance at the wedding. It was such a blessing getting to capture two of my friends getting married!

Their wedding definitely had a warm country feel to it! The ceremony took place in a cute little church next to the Valley Center High School. It was a beautiful day with blue skies and everyone had a smile on their face. :) Of course there is always an obstacle for the bride and groom at the wedding. As a professional wedding photographer in Valley Center I know this, so I come prepared with my bridal emergency kit!

The issue was with the wedding ring… it wouldn't fit onto Rebecca’s left ring finger. Neither a Tide-to-go stick or safety pins were going to fix that! Matt tried sliding it on with Windex but it just wouldn't go. But, that didn't stop Rebecca from getting married or from having the time of her life.

The wedding reception was held outside at Bates Nut Farm. Ive got to give a shout-out to Terri Devlin and her girls, because they did an amazing job setting everything up. I was also very impressed once again with the food prepared by Stroh Catering… DELICIOUS! Im not sure who designed the floral arrangements but they were also beautiful and fit nicely with Rebecca’s Country style wedding. Another wedding expert that did an amazing job was Teresa who styled Rebecca’s hair, she also did an excellent job!

One of the best parts about a reception at Bates is the photo opportunities. There are 200 year old oak trees, windy country roads, and old red barns. I could have spent 10 hours shooting Bridal portraits! We only took an hour but it was very rewarding. So many great photo opportunities, you can check out some of them yourself below.

Taking off for a honeymoon in Hawaii… Im jealous!

{Wes + Marla} | San Diego Engagement Photography

Every professional photographer has their signature style. Instead of making the focus on my style, I like to make the focus on the character of the couple. This makes every session new and interesting, since every couple is unique!

Engagement Photographs from South Coast Winery

Getting to photograph a friends wedding is great. There is no need for intros and we hit the ground running. So when Heather called me about photographing their engagement I was super excited, because we go way back.

Some things that you should know about Mike and Heather… They LOVE the Chargers, they are growing a vineyard, and they are from a small town. We decided a winery would be the perfect setting for their engagement photography session. However, we wanted to wait for the vines to be in bloom. Once May finally came around we headed out to South Coast Winery in Temecula.

I am so blessed as a Wedding Photographer in Temecula to be getting such amazing couples asking me to photograph their wedding. Sometimes my wife watches Bridezillas and I am so thankful that I dont have to deal with those crazy attitudes (knock on wood). Heather and Mike are both real sweet and I couldnt be more happy that God has brought them together.

Temecula Wedding Photography at Ponte Winery

What a beautiful wedding Tina and Ken had at Ponte Winery. It was springtime and getting to capture their wedding was a real treat. The colors were vibrant and the emotions were contagious. What a great day to be their Temecula Wedding Photographer.

I have so many cute stories from their wedding Im not sure where to start? Maybe the candle ceremony in the wind, the doll with amputated hands and feet, or the last minute origami project! Once again proving that every wedding is unique and special! As a Temecula wedding photographer I get to shoot a lot at the local wineries. Even though the venue might be the same as last week, the photos never are.

The day started with a little rain while I was driving to Ponte Winery. I quickly turned around and headed back for my rain gear, which ended up being useless because the rain was short lived and the clouds passed. Though the day was very eventful, lets skip to the main event… Tina and Ken tieing the knot!

Tina is not only a gorgeous bride but she also has the heart of an angel. In fact both Ken and Tina and both of their families were so sweet to me. Weddings are such an intimate affair, and when your subjects treat you like family, it makes it so much fun to capture the emotions and feelings of the day. At the altar, I think Tina’s dad got something in his eye. Actually, maybe something got into both of them because they were watering pretty good!!! But seriously, it was such a momentous occasion and I am so happy for Tina and Ken!

San Diego Wedding Photography | Ryan + Alyssa Married in Rancho Bernardo

Alyssa and Ryan had an amazing wedding at the Rancho Bernardo Country Club. The anticipation, excitement and joy that the bridal party, family, and friends experienced was threw the roof! But as most wedding photographers know, nothing is ever perfect at a wedding. While the bride and her bridesmaids were headed to the wedding venue from getting their hair and makeup done, there was a fatal accident on the freeway that shut it down! The 45 minute delay didn't keep Alyssa and Ryan from being wed. Instead of getting mad or bitter, they continued to enjoy their special day despite the circumstances.

The grounds at the Rancho Bernardo Country Club in San Diego were spectacular, great for creative wedding photography. The bridal suite was huge and well decorated and there were a variety of beautiful settings for bridal portraits outside. Time was a little short, but we made it work! Getting to photograph genuine and happy as Ryan and Alyssa makes my job as a San Diego Wedding Photographer very satisfying. Thanks Ryan and Alyssa!

Getting to capture engagement photographs at Temecula Wineries like South Coast Winery, is a real blessing. Its spring so the vines are looking fresh, the weather is perfect, and love is in the air! ;)

Alyssa and Ryan were great! They came looking sharp and smiling, it really makes my job easy having such happy smiling clients. Alyssa wanted a photographer who would give her some direction for the photos, which is pretty normal since most people aren't professional models! I always come prepared to photography sessions with vision and toolbox of great ideas for that setting. As you can see below there is a good variety of different types of images. Different lighting setups, backgrounds, expressions, compositions, etc.

Beach Engagement Photography | Tina + Ken

What a fun engagement photography session! Tina + Ken chose a great day for a walk at the beach. There wasnt many people out and the sunset was amazing. Encinitas is one of my favorite beaches and cities. That atmosphere is just so layed back and chill, it reminds me of Hawaii. Even the waves here are a little more mellow than adjacent beaches, making it great for long boarding, man I cant wait for summer!

Tina and Ken are both really special people and they have quite a bit in common. The most obvious is there jobs… they both work with animals. In fact Ken is a veterinarian! They both encounter animal emergencies quite often and I found out that their jobs can be sad sometimes, when they see the injuries. For the most part though, being able to help the animals makes it all worth it. They have huge hearts and I am so happy they found each other. They are going to make a great married couple! Congrats Ken and Tina on the engagement!

Family Photography at San Diego Beach

This family photography session at Swami’s was a lot of fun! This was not my first time getting to capture Morland’s family photos, you might recall the session we had earlier at the pond. This photo shoot was with the whole family, including siblings and grandparents! It was a large group but everyone got along great.

As a San Diego Family Photographer, I try to keep my sessions pretty casual so that I can capture people’s true character and candid smiles. No one likes being awkward and stiff and being told when and how to smile. Yeah, some direction and vision is needed for a great family shot, but if the moment isn't right then you can almost hear the “SAY CHEESE” in the photo. We all had fun at the beach, and I think the water snuck up on everyone at least once!

It was fun to watch little Nathan walk on the sand, he wasn't sure about it at first, but once he realized it was ok he was all over it! Sand between the toes is a pretty unique feeling, one that I associate with good times! Growing up I loved going to the beach with friends and family, building sand castles, playing frisbee, and surfing. The San Diego beach is just a great atmosphere for the good life!

Wedding Photography at The Grand Tradition by Anibaldi Studio

Here are some of my favorite wedding photographs captured at the Grand Tradition in Fallbrook near Temecula, Ca on Marcela and Mason's BIG day. It was a partly cloudy but warm spring day and I don’t think Marcela could have imagined a more beautiful day. With the waterfalls flowing and all the plants looking so lush and green, it was a beautiful garden wedding and a great day to be a Wedding Photographer in Temecula!

Almost everything went smoothly… until we couldn’t find the engagement ring! Yep, the groomsmen were turning the Grand Tradition upside down trying to find that rock!!! Then Mason realized there was a hole in his jacket pocket, he searched and found the ring in the liner of the back of his jacket… whew, what a relief that was. Other than that the wedding was almost completely stress free. Megan is a great coordinator and one that I highly recommend! She's great at planning and making changes on the fly when something changes the schedule.

Some of the details of the wedding that really stood out to me were the dress, hair, and food! Marcela's dress was amazing and fit perfectly. Well you can see from the wedding photos of the bride below, but seriously it thought it was stunning! The hair also turned out beautiful. Some might call me biased, because my wife Rachael was the hair stylist, but honestly I think she has a real knack for hair. The bridesmaid's hair looked super cute, but how the bride's hair complemented the strapless dress was absolutely perfect. Rach is pregnant right now, so she isn't excepting to work in Summer of 2010, but if you are getting married after Aug/Sep she's definitely someone I would consider for your wedding hair.

Oh yeah, I cant forget the food! The catering at the Grand Tradition is absolutely the best. Ive been to my fair share of weddings and I'm not gonna lie… The Grand Tradition makes excellent dishes. Marcela and Mason chose the Salmon and Chicken Medallions (I think that’s what they were called?). Basically a croissant with cheese and chicken. Phenomenal!

This is definitely going on the cover of Rach’s portfolio. Once I get some time. I will be building her a website, so stay tuned! Engagement Photography at the Santa Rosa Plateau

Capturing great engagement photographs takes hard work and sacrifice, and I'm not just talking about for the photographer. During this session of engagement photography in Temecula at Santa Rosa Plateau, Matt and his Fiancé, Brittany, hiked with me for over 2 miles to create a collection of engagement images! Matt and Brittany have known each other since before high school, yeah! This was obvious during the photo session, they both knew how to make each other smile and what ! Family Photography Session at the UCR Gardens

I love getting to go to new places and capture photos of cute toddlers! So this day was a good day! We went to the University of California Riverside Botanical Gardens for some family photography! It was my first time their and I really enjoyed it. My wife and I got their early to walk around and then we stayed late to hang out at the turtle pond!

The photo session went great and Cambria was all smiles. And her smile is so contagious, seriously look at the cute photos below of her laughing and try not to smile… It just cant be done! :) She loves when mom and dad toss her into the air, as you can see!

The location is perfect for families that live in that Corona and Riverside area and don’t want to drive all the way to Temecula for a family photography session with Anibaldi Studio. Overall it was a great family photography session and I cant wait to go back to the gardens at UCR.

Beach Engagement Photography Shoot in Oceanside, Ca

This beach engagement photography session in San Diego was a lot of fun. Kurra and Rich are a fun-loving couple with huge hearts. It wasn’t hard to capture the obvious love that they have for each other!

Their main request I got was for some good "black and white" engagement photos. So as the session progressed, I kept that in mind. I capture all photographs in color digitally. However, since I process them on the computer I am able to convert them later into black and white. In fact, I have found that this gives me the most control, because in Adobe Lightroom I can control the level of each color channel, thereby allowing me to easily make tonal adjustments to specific areas of the image.

It was a fun time at the Oceanside Pier. At one point I decided to capture some photos of them just walking along the beach, just some simple candid shots of them being themselves. After about 5 or so shots, I think Rich and I realized at the same time that he was holding Kurra's purse! He's a nice guy, and its just second nature to help Kurra in anyway he can. But as you can imagine, the photos might look sorta funny with a dude walking down the beach with a purse! Guys I think we are all guilty of this at some point, I know I am!!! ;)

What a fun easy-going couple, Marcela and Mason are absolutely perfect for each other! I cant put my finger on it but they just match… like laughter and a smile. I captured their engagement photos here in Temecula, first at the Temecula Duck Pond Park and the rest at the South Coast Winery. Hanging out and getting to know them was a lot of fun, I love making new friends! :)

Family Photography in Temecula, Ca

While photographing this family session at the Temecula duck pond, the family dog decided to lift his leg on the toddler’s jeans. It was sad at first and then a little funny, but hey what’s a little pee between best friends? The tough little guy shrugged it off and the family session went on!

It was a cloudy day, so the light was soft and perfect for family portraits in temecula. We hung out on the grass for a while and I even climbed a tree to get a better angle. Whatever it takes for the best photo, its totally worth it in my book! Then we chased ducks around the Temecula Duck Pond and then finally we got to bust out the Tricycle for one last ride!!! Overall, it was great getting to hangout with such great parents, a very cute kid, and my camera… good times!

Newborn Photography in Temecula | Family Photographer

So this is my first newborn session and it was shot in my clients home here in Temecula. I learned a lot about having a newborn (less than a week old) as a photo subject. Its not easy, but its so worth it! Working with awesome parents is definitely a plus. This was their second child so they could almost read the baby’s mind. At one point Daddy was like…"I know that face… yep he’s filling up his diaper!” Photographing a newborn can be a dirty job and its all about timing and being patient.

Little baby Gabriel, is so precious, and capturing that along with the love that his family has welcomed him into this world with was my goal. Seriously these newborn photos don't do him justice, he’s one of the cutest babies I've ever seen and if your a parent you probably know how hard it is to capture all that cuteness!
