Long story short this is easy reading, a book full of engagement photos! You can checkout the design at my client proofing site . I created the layouts in photoshop, by hand, so no templates or auto-robotic layouts. Yes, it takes more time this way but I have 100% creative control.
I will post some photos of the book once its fabricated. We are going with ebony distressed leather and a cameo window on the cover. My next photobook project will be for a wedding vow renewal I will be shooting this weekend. The bride would like me to these new photos and also incorporate her original wedding photos into the design as well. So there will be some scanning involved, since they didnt have digital cameras 15 years ago. Brad+Julie at Villa De Amore
The Slideshow
One of the creative options for showcasing engagement photographs is with a slideshow. The bride and groom get to customize thier slideshow by selecting their favorite photographs and love song. The final product includes a DVD with full menu and a movie file for an iPhone, computer, and facebook (see sample below).
The DVD is often used at the rehearsal dinner or even for the guests to view during cocktail hour at the wedding. The opportunities are endless. Of course this product is also available for wedding photographs, and is quite nice since the dvd menu can organize the photographs into "Getting Ready," "The Ceremony," and "The Reception."
The Shoot
This sample features Brad and Julie's, great idea of having their engagement photos taken at the beautiful Temecula Vineyard known as The Villa De Amore Estate. Its a private vineyard in Temecula that is absolutely gorgeous. The place is a temecula wedding photographer's dream, hundreds of great backgrounds and the artistic features of the vineyard are endless. They include rows of grape vines, statues, sculptures, fountains, roses, archways... I could go on and on! Bottom line is that this engagement photography shoot in Temecula was a blast and I am very excited about their upcoming wedding this summer.
As a Temecula Wedding Photographer I love opportunities to shoot special events in my own community. Temecula Wedding Winery Photography is something that I am hoping I get to do a lot more in the future. So stay tuned, this summer I will have Brad and Julie's Wedding showcased here as well as my portfolio as evidence of how beautiful these events are!

Engagement Shoot in Encinitas, Ca
Its spring and the beaches are warming up, woohoo! This engagement shoot with Christan and Cor went great. The skies were blue, the sand was white, and that fresh spring feeling was in the air. We shot at Encinitas near Moonlight Beach (one of my favorites).
I am quite excited about the Engagement Signature Book I will be designing as their guestbook for the wedding. I have some great ideas for the page layouts and will create another post for it once complete. Without further ado, here are some of my favorite engagement photographs from the session in Encinitas.

A Groomsmen's Perspective...
The insatiable urge to take pictures, maybe some of you can relate to my condition? When I witness something beautiful, whether a sunset, waterfall, or in this case wedding I just cant resist, and have to get my hands on a camera! I'm a passionate San Diego Wedding Photographer, what can I say!
I had the honor of being a groomsmen in Landon and Alyssa's Wedding, and man was it tough holding back. I got through the entire ceremony without a shot... whew!!! But before and after, I had to sneak a few candids in. Lots of people bring cameras to weddings, right? I think I actually blended in, somewhat, I hope!
Mother of the bride came prepared, here she is adjusting the brides dress. Can you see the safety pin sticking out of her mouth?
Carlitos was the ring bearer, what a studly little man!
The florist, was a family friend of the b&g, I thought she did an amazing job. I will be sending these shots to her, and if she has a website I will post a link here.
Toughest job of the day, father of the bride. If I ever get the honor, God willing, watch out cause "Here come the waterslides!"
By the way this wedding took place in Escondido at the Escondido Country Club. It was a beautiful venue for a wedding and hope to shoot a wedding there in the future. Wedding Photography in San Diego accounts for about 50% of my gigs, so I imagine I will sometime in the future. The other 50% is Wedding Photography in Temecula, actually since I live in Temecula I would say Wedding Photography in Temecula is 51%!

Snowball fight!
It was a long hike, in the snow, up hill both ways jk, but worth it. After lunch we started messing around in the snow and well 'ya know what they say... "boys will be boys!" We turned some dead wood into a toboggan / snowboard, and surfed it down this snowy hill!
Here's a cool shot of the lucky guy, Landon! I actually got the honor to be in his wedding, and of course couldn't resist to taking a few shots at the wedding . More to come about that in my next post this week.
And of course a snowball fight which lasted all the way down the mountain. Guys in the back hucking snow at the guys in the front. And guys in the front running ahead and hiding on the side of the trail until we showed up and were pelted with a surprise attack! Good times, good times!
Here's a creative way of using an emergency poncho!
The hike was actually a bit of a challenge, since the snow had been melting and refreezing at night. It was tough and instead of using the trail, we eventually had to rough it up the mountain blazing our own trail in Idyllwild. 
Alright, this is Ben, a professional poker player and a heck of an amateur snowboarder! We also went to college together, and are good friends.
Here's a shot of me before really eating it! This really reminded me of riding my sector nine or even a surfboard, man I cant wait for surfing this summer!
Hiking is fun but hanging out with some of your best friends is better! Back at the cabin I played some of the funnest pool ever, and half the games involved only two balls and no stick. I still don't know what the game is called but you can have as many people as you want and on your turn you slide the cue ball at the other trying to knock it in. Guess you had to be there!

Engagement Shoot in La Jolla
Privacy is key for most engagement shoots, since it really allows the couple to relax and be themselves. Who would have ever guessed that my hobby of surfing would help me as a wedding photographer in Temecula? Yeah, I'm sharing beaches with my clients that are nearly deserted, except for the friendly locals and surfers, and they are digging it!
Instead of an Engagement Shoot at an overcrowded and congested La Jolla Cove, I shot Kristine and Kevin's Engagement at a nearby secluded beach that may have been even more beautiful? You can be the judge...

Hike at Santa Rosa Plateau
As a wedding photographer, I really appreciate when I get to shoot for my own selfish pleasure, with no assignment or shot list! That was the case for this awesome hike with my wife at the Santa Rosa Plateau in Murrieta California. My wife and I love to be outdoors and under the sun, despite the first sunburn of the year we had an awesome time.
The lady at the visitor center was very nice and gave us a map showing our 8 mile hike for the day. We had lunch and water packed and headed out into this pristine natural environment. We saw tons of Engelmann Oaks on these rolling green hills that went for miles and miles. It was great, and right here in Murrieta off of Clinton Keith Rd!
We also saw some wildlife; coyotes! My instinct was to sneak up on them and become Mr. National Geographic, but instead I was smart enough to have a wife with me to keep me on the trail. Here is an image I grabbed of one of the coyotes. And then a cropped version for a zoom effect.
There were tons of wildflowers along the hiking trails, but only a few California Poppies.
We had a great time in the outdoors and just being together. We highly recommend this hike, especially this time of year in the spring.
